Course Programs

You can view or print the Semester 1, 2024, program HERE.   Enrolments are now open.

U3A Banyule Members can access course information and enrol in courses and activities on MyU3A with their Member ID and password, using the Member Login button at the top right of the screen.

The aim of our program is to offer a wide range of courses and activities to meet the educational, creative, leisure and social interests of our growing membership. Our program includes classes in humanities, sciences, languages and technology, plus physical activities, excursions and social opportunities. U3A Banyule, being a secular organisation, does not permit faith-based courses to be included in the program.

The planning and development of our program are undertaken by our Course Coordinator and a support team, with input from the Committee of Management.

Features of U3A Banyule’s Program

  • Over 120 courses, excursions, social activities and lectures are offered each year. Members can enrol in as many as they wish, for a small annual membership fee. There are additional costs for some excursions, ticketed activities, eg theatre visits, and lunches.
  • There are two semesters per year and course enrolment can occur any time throughout the year, subject to vacancies.
  • Some Enrol and Pay Events are open for enrolment at the commencement of the enrolment period and some are open for enrolment at a later date; all have a closing date for enrolments. These details will be indicated in MyU3A  for the relevant excursion or event.
  • Enrol and Pay Events require payment at the time of enrolment.
  • Courses and activities are generally held during the week (daylight hours) and vary in duration: one-off sessions, short series (eg weekly for several weeks) and others that run for the whole year.
  • Some courses continue during school holidays, but no classes are held at the Ivanhoe Library and Community Hub (ILCH) during school holidays.
  • We aim to have a balanced program, but do not want to duplicate what is already available in the community.
  • We listen to our members. Via our membership survey we receive feedback and ideas on future courses and activities.
  • Where courses and activities become full, a duplicate course or activity may be offered in that Semester, or a later time, subject to tutor availability.
  • Our program is dependent on available tutors and cost-effective venues.

Feedback and ideas for our program are always welcome – please email info@u3abanyule.org.au
