Go to https://u3avictoria.org.au/online-courses to see what is available. Search by category, e.g. computers, history, mindfulness, and register yourself to participate for these sessions to receive the Zoom link. This is an easy way to expand your access to a great range of U3A courses and you can attend from your own home.
For example:
The Universe and Life
This course will discuss what modern science tells us about nature that is very small (subatomic particles), very big (the universe) and in-between (life). Discussions will draw from podcasts, popular science books and the internet. This includes the popular BBC show “In Our Time”. This course aims to give participants a grounding and enthusiasm to continue to study and follow the fascinating topics.
Thursday 3 July 2025 to Thursday 28 August 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
No fee. To enrol, contact Henry Gardner on Henry.Gardner585@gmail.com
Go Grammar
U3A Surf Coast is kindly opening their online course, Go Grammar, to members of other U3As. This short course is primarily intended as an aid for learners of other languages, especially German, Italian, Spanish and French. Anyone who would like to simply learn about English grammar is also welcome. Grammar is about systems, structures and patterns in language rather than just rules. Each week we will focus on a different aspect of English grammar and look at how this knowledge can be applied to enhance skills in another language. I am a self-confessed language nerd: a German-English translator, volunteer English tutor, learner of Italian and former teacher of German and English Language.
The Course is offered weekly via Zoom Thursdays 12.30pm – 1.30pm Term 2 starts 1/5/2025
The email address for interested students is: info@u3asurfcoast.org.au
