The planning and development of our program are undertaken by our Class Coordinator and a support team, with input from the Committee of Management.

Features of U3A Banyule’s Program

  • Over 120 classes, excursions, social activities and lectures are offered each year. Members can enrol in as many as they wish, for a small annual membership fee. There are additional costs for some excursions, ticketed activities, eg theatre visits, and lunches.
  • There are two semesters (four terms) per year and class enrolment can occur any time throughout the year, subject to vacancies.
  • Some Enrol and Pay Events are open for enrolment at the commencement of the enrolment period and some are open for enrolment at a later date; all have a closing date for enrolments. These details will be indicated in Member Wizard  for the relevant excursion or event.
  • Enrol and Pay Events require payment at the time of enrolment.
  • Classes and activities are generally held during the week (daylight hours) and vary in duration: one-off sessions, short series (eg weekly for several weeks) and others that run for the whole year.
  • Some classes continue during school holidays, but no classes are held at the Ivanhoe Library and Community Hub (ILCH) during school holidays.
  • We aim to have a balanced program, but do not want to duplicate what is already available in the community.
  • We listen to our members. Via our membership survey we receive feedback and ideas on future courses and activities.
  • Where classes and activities become full, a duplicate class or activity may be offered in that Semester, or a later time, subject to tutor availability.
  • Our program is dependent on available tutors and cost-effective venues.

Feedback and ideas for our program are always welcome – please email info@u3abanyule.org.au
